Resources to Support TSA Officers During Government Shutdown

As the federal government shutdown continues, Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) across Texas remain on the front lines—reporting to work each day to ensure the safety and security of the traveling public, despite not receiving a paycheck.

Airports across Texas are stepping up to support these essential workers through coordinated, community-driven efforts. This page serves as a central resource to highlight how individuals, businesses, and organizations can offer meaningful support to TSA officers in their local communities.

At Corpus Christi International Airport, TSA officers continue to maintain efficient operations, with security wait times remaining under 10 minutes. Community support is focused on helping officers manage daily expenses during the shutdown.

At Dallas Love Field, a community donation drive is underway to support federal aviation workers, including TSA officers, impacted by the government shutdown.

What Can Be Donated:

• Toiletries, diapers, and personal hygiene items
• Baby and pet food/supplies
• Non-perishable food and snacks
• Grocery or gas gift cards (e.g., Walmart, Kroger)
• Cash cannot be accepted

Drop-Off Location:

Collection Times:

• Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

• Maximum value: $50 per card (no limit on quantity)
• Suggested retailers: H-E-B, Kroger, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco

At San Antonio International Airport, the #SATCares initiative is hosting a gift card drive to support TSA officers during the shutdown.

Gift Card Drive Details:

• Date: Monday, March 30
• Times: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Donation Guidelines:

• Gift cards must be $20 or less
• Accepted: restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, and everyday essentials
• Not accepted: cash or cash-equivalent cards (e.g., Visa gift cards)
